FLASH 4000
Automatic N/Protein Analyzers
The Flash 4000 N/Protein Analyzer provides the complete
Nitrogen & N/Protein analysis packaging with enhanced productivity,
innovative design and superior performance.
Building on more than 40 years of experience in Organic
Elemental Analysis (OEA), Thermo
Fisher has developed the new generation FLASH 4000 which takes a "sample-in,
results-out"
approach to ensure maximum ease-of-use and safety. Operating in a real-time,
highly productive
manner and requiring minimum sample preparation, the analyzer decreases
analytical costs and
increases revenues. The large sample size capacity of the FLASH 4000
ensures optimum
homogeneous analysis and results precision, reducing sample handling
time and minimizing
matrix effects.
Design
• Foot print of 667 x 635 x 695 mm (w x d x h) or smaller
• All connections on the rear panel of the instrument
Operation
• Automatic operation and 125 sample capability which is able
to handle more than 2 gram sample weight
• The analysis time will be 5 to 7 minutes depending on the sample
nature.
• The analyzer is provided with a Thermal Conductivity Detector
(TCD) which is able to measure Nitrogen in the range of 0.02 mg –
300 mg absolute
• Two calibration methods : K factor and Linear fit to ensure
analytical condition stability
Combustion & Background
• Dual furnace system with catalyst based reactor
• The furnace should be ready for operation within 40 minutes
after start-up from ambient temperature to operation temperature
• The catalyst will have a lifetime of more than 1000 analyses
• The analyzer should not have a gas split device
Regenerative CO2 adsorption filters
• Two carbon dioxide (CO2) filters (International Patent Pending)
to increase the instrument autonomy and decreases the costs per analysis
• While one CO2 adsorption filter is used for the sample analysis,
the other filter can be regenerated automatically
Oxytune® System
• Tailored Oxygen volume according to sample weight and sample
nature
• The excess of oxygen is limited and increases the lifespan of
reduction catalyst dramatically
Water Condensation Drainage System
• Removal of water out of the combustion gases, with a Peltier
device, without the presence of a solid adsorber
Software
• Operating Xperience software supplied as standard
• Compatible with Windows VISTA and CFR21 part 11 compliance
• Select Nitrogen/Protein factors according to the typical food
application
• Consider the humidity value in the final Nitrogen/Protein calculation
• Export data to LIMS and connection to LAN system
• Automatic leak test facility
• Control and check on maintenance status
• Start-up, standby and analytical cycle functions
Additional items to be available
• AS 3000 model Liquids auto sampler, with 120 sample vial positions
