EGM
II - Gas Introduction Module
Under pressure to save money? Under pressure to save time? Under
pressure to increase laboratory safety?
The new Thermo Scientific EGM II takes gas analysis a step further
by being the only gas introduction module to
Reduce your gas purchase
Cut total analysis time
Increase laboratory safety
Product Detail
The new EGM II is the only gas introduction module to use semi-automatic
injection sequencing that allows you to generate a calibration
curve using just one calibration gas. This innovative solution
means that your laboratory no longer has to handle and purchase
numerous gas bottles, and you also reduce total analysis times.
Principle of operation
The EGM II is a semi-automatic sample introduction accessory
for gas and liquefied gas. The 10-fold rotary valve holds two
sample loops; one for gas and one for liquefied gas. The volumes
of the sample loops are user definable, but 10 mL and 100 µL
(respectively) come as standard. In loading position the sample
gas flows through the sample loop to the vent. The loading sequence
is controlled by the EGM II; initiated either by pressing the
purge button or as a part of the injecting sequence. Depending
on the mode (set by the gas/liquids-switch) the corresponding
venting valve is opened and the sample gas flows through the
sample loop.
After loading the sample loop, the EGM
II is ready to inject the sample into the analyzer. By turning
the rotary valve (automatically) the carrier gas forces the
sample out of the loop towards the heater and expansion vessel.
This way the gas is stabilized for pressure and temperature
and if the sample is a liquefied gas it is vaporized at the
same time. From the expansion vessel the sample gas is fed into
the analyzer to be analyzed on Total Sulfur, Total Nitrogen
or Total Chlorine.
